The Menus

After logging on to WebGenesis the menu bar of the authoring environment appears on the top margin of the presentation frame:

Depending on your access rights you can now create, edit and view (additional) entries (options, you do not have access rights for, are not active and appear in a grey color.)

Edit Via the Edit menu you can
  • edit the Metadata of the entry,
  • edit the Access Rights of the entry,
  • edit the Contents of the entry,
  • edit the Layout and Layout Files of the entry,
  • Copy, Move or Delete the current entry,
  • Export the current entry (with all subentries if you want) to a XML-file
  • Import some entries from a XML-file,
  • show the properties of the current entry (Creator, Creation date, ...)
  • in some specific WebGenesis installations there may be additional functions. Refer to Special Functions).
New Via the New menu you can create new entries or links to entries. See New for further details.
User The user menu gives you the following options:
  • Check your login state - if you are still logged in the welcome page appears where you can select some functions and log off.
  • Modify you user settings (Home-directory, contact details, password, etc.),
  • show the entries you edited in the past,
  • jump to your Home-directory,
  • add the current entry as a bookmark to your home-directory,
  • show the User-/Groups overview,
Extras The Extras menu gioves you some further options:
  • call up the navigator for the current or the top entry,
  • jump to the search mask,
  • show What's new? and
  • switch to the explorer-view.
Help Via the Help menu you can quickly access the online help and show the version information of the WebGenesis installation.

Note:
Another way to call up the menu Entry is to click on a free spot in the presentation frame with the left mouse key while pressing the ALT key. A blue menu for the current entry appears.

By selecting a hyperlink of a subordinate entry with the left mouse key, while pressing the ALT key, a red menu for the chosen subordinate entry appears (without the option "Create New...").

Important!
This is the only way to edit or remove Cross References!
